Hi! Hola! Marhaba! Salut!

I am Katie Benatovich, Founder of TreeTops Publishing LLC and multilingual book specialist. I focus on assisting in the publication of self-published works. My goal is to support local businesses and creative partnerships that foster community building. TreeTops Publishing LLC makes the best use of online bookstores and marketing tools for the distribution and sales of books and published works.

My experiences living in North Borneo, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates where I did not speak the dominant language taught me to communicate in different ways. These included translanguaging (purposefully and strategically using my full linguistic repertoire), and code switching - between my home language English and the new languages I was learning! Learning languages does not come easily to me as I do not hear certain sounds in my right ear. However, I love learning languages and about the people and cultures connecting our extraordinary and precious planet earth together. It is extremely important to me in this learning process to communicate optimally with dignity and respect. I turned this passion for learning languages, stories and connection into writing multilingual children’s books and designing diversity and inclusivity workshops.

I co-authored and project managed 6 trilingual children's books as part of the Noura's World Books series, 1 special community book to help families affected by cancer called C is for Courage for and about a special organization - Camp Good Days, and now a new multilingual poetry social-emotional learning resource called Power Poems for Giraffes! I love learning and storytelling in all its many art forms! I hope you will find some stories and resources here that you can share and enjoy too!

I am especially interested in the healing effects of narrative therapy - a form of book therapy - sometimes also known as bibliotherapy - as part of a toolkit for social-emotional learning and well-being. The purpose of these books and web resources are to help users develop / build coping and resiliency skills for life.

I currently hold a Mental Health First Aid Certificate, a Bachelor’s with Honors Business Administration degree, and my Master's in Education TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) degree from SUNY at Fredonia. I am also working towards an Advanced Certificate in Child Advocacy

I can help you realize your story telling project. What is YOUR dream book project?

  • making a handmade book for each of your grandchildren

  • publishing your memoirs

  • hand printing a special love poem.

  • learning how to keep a gratitude journal.

  • collating a cookbook with all your family’s favorite recipes

  • joining a supportive community group that enjoys reading, writing, and drawing.

  • creating a book to celebrate your group or organization.

  • writing for a local newspaper

In addition, I design workshops to celebrate diversity and inclusivity whether they are part of the library’s summer reading program, a school reading celebration event, or to accompany my books as part of a class or homeschool event. You can book these workshops or author events for your school, youth group and community library by emailing me at info@treetopspublishing.com.

When I am not creating new books and helping with book projects, I love to swim, practice yoga and go on rambles in beautiful Western New York with my magical son and daughter. I collect inspirational quotes and postcards. We have pet fish that are very relaxing companions. I am also very fond of penguins, graphic novels, potluck dinners with friends and audiobooks for car journeys!

We hope you find useful resources for your home and classroom, books to read and enjoy and services you can afford to help you on your creative journey!

Warmest Regards,

Katie Benatovich
